Our Story

Providence Homes opened its doors in April 1988. John Poulsen, the founder and owner of Providence Homes, was born and raised in Arizona and takes great pride in being part of the community. From the beginning the mission was simple: Rather than striving to be the biggest builder, Providence would strive to give customers the best built home possible at an exceptional price. With this mission in mind Providence has hired trade partners who pay particular attention to quality and detail, and who stand behind their work. Providence does not hire the subcontractor with the lowest bid, but rather the goal has always been to hire the best.

Now after more than 22 years in business, Providence has built nearly 5,000 homes in more than 30 communities. We are proud to be a private homebuilder who remains loyal to Arizona and who has remained stable in this tough economy. The simple mission we had back in 1988 to not grow beyond our means and to provide the best built home at the best possible price has been a success. At Providence Homes we hope to add another 20 years of homebuilding to our list of accomplishments.
